FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 51-year-old Fort Wayne man has been identified by the Allen County Coroner’s office as the victim of a fatal crash Tuesday morning.

The coroner’s office says Matthew W. Becher was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Becher’s car went off the road and crashed into the Regency Inn sign, at 1004 W. Coliseum Blvd. Becher was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and the airbags deployed, FWPD said.

The coroner’s office says Becher died from multiple blunt force injuries, after an autopsy. Becher’s cause of death has been ruled an accident by the coroner’s office.

Becher is the 21st fatal crash for Allen County so far this year. The crash is under investigation at this time.
