Summerlike weekend showers and storms
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - After a week of summerlike heat, showers and storms will bring cooler weather next week.
Saturday morning starts out sunny as the humidity builds. Shortly after noon, showers and storms begin popping up. These will be widely scattered and last until around sunset. The severe weather threat looks very low, but some heavy rain and gusty winds (around 30 mph) will be possible. Temperatures today rise to the mid 80s, but it’ll feel like the upper 80s with the humidity.
Showers and storms wrap up by the overnight, which will bring partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions. Temperatures fall to the upper 50s.
More dry and sunny conditions will be around Sunday morning and the first half of the afternoon. A cold front approaches late Sunday afternoon, bringing more chances for showers and storms. These will be more organized, widespread, and likely in the form of a line. Those storms will be possible until around midnight. Highs Sunday will be in the low to mid 80s.
After the cold front passes Sunday night, highs fall to the low 70s. Skies stay clear and sunny to start the week. Rain chances return midweek. Heat moves back in towards the end of the week and into next weekend.
