Garrett man charged with sexual misconduct

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Indiana State Police say a 30-year-old Garrett man was arrested Tuesday and charged with four felonies in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct with several minor children over the course of three years.

On Monday, April 24, 2022, the DeKalb County Prosecutor contacted state police about an investigation that had been started by the Garrett Police department on April 7, 2022, on Tyler Hauk Hanna. The investigation began from a complaint that alleged that beginning in May of 2019, Hanna had engaged in sexual conduct with several minor female children, that were under his care. The girls were 8, 12, 15, and 16 at the time, state police said.

Investigators were able to gather enough evidence in three days to establish a probable cause and arrest Hanna, state police said. Hanna is charged with two counts of child molestation, one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of child seduction, and one count of child exploitation.

Hanna is in the DeKalb County jail.
