ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - Allen County commissioners are set to consider the proposal to bring a major IU Health facility to undeveloped land near the intersection of I-69 and Lower Huntington Road during its Friday meeting.

It’s a proposal that has drawn some opposition from area residents who are concerned about the impact of a full-scale hospital on a largely rural part of the county. Five of them spoke in opposition at a January plan commission hearing, where the petition to rezone passed with seven in favor and one abstention.
