Grant Me Hope: Meet Tamarra
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Each Sunday, ABC21 introduces you to kids in the foster care system through our partnership with Grant Me Hope.
ABC21 collaborates with the Grant Me Hope organization, an initiative to find older foster children adoptive homes before they age out of the foster care system.
“My name is Tamarra. I am in 10th grade. I am 16 years old. So when I started playing volleyball, I was probably six or seven. I most certainly do want to play for a team again for a school. I like school. It’s my favorite thing to do during the day. My favorite class is biology. I like to read nursing books and I like to hang out with little kids. I do want to work with kids. I think I want to be a nurse, so I think I want to do delivery or pediatric. When I am inside, I like to study, draw or color and I love being in the kitchen--So I like to bake and cook. When I’m outside, I like to sit in the sun. I also like to go dirt biking and four wheeling. Somewhere where I would like to travel is Puerto Rico and probably Florida. The type of music I would like to listen to is probably country. One of my favorite artists is Luke Bryan. My other one is Blake Shelton. Something that I’m looking forward to is hopefully being adopted by a forever family and going to college after high school. A family to be there wherever I am to cheer me on during volleyball games.”
