FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A man wanted for the murder of an Illinois police officer and injuring another was arrested in North Manchester Friday morning.

Indiana State Police held a press conference Friday afternoon confirming the arrest of Darius Sullivan at a home on North Bond Street.

According to WLS in Chicago, Sullivan was wanted in connection with the shooting of two Bradley Police Department officers in Kankakee County earlier this week.

WLS reports the two officers were responding to a call about dogs barking in an unattended vehicle at a Comfort Inn. The two officers eventually went to a room where they believed the owner of the vehicle was and were shot.

One officer, 49-year-old Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic, died and another, 27-year-old Tyler Bailey, is in critical condition.

According to police, a traffic stop in Fulton County led to information that Sullivan was staying at the house in North Manchester. Police say they arrested two people in the traffic stop in Fulton County but did not say if they were facing charges in Illinois.

Police said weapons and narcotics were found in the house on North Bond Street.

The sheriff’s office posted a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Sullivan, of Bourbonnais, Ill.

Another suspect, Xandra Harris is still wanted in connection with the shooting.

A news conference was set for 1:30 p.m. in North Manchester to provide additional details. Watch it below:

Our crew on the scene reported several Indiana State Police cars and a SWAT vehicle were outside the house for over an hour before Sullivan was taken into custody.

A neighbor told ABC21 that one person came out of the house earlier in the morning, but police were still asking for a second person to come out of the house.

Video recorded by a witness and shared with ABC21 showed several people walking toward police with their arms raised.
