FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A second arrest has been made in connection with the death of 9-year-old Elijah Thomas Ross late last week.
The boy’s mother, Jenna Mae Miller, 36, faces a total of four counts of neglect, including Neglect of Dependent Causing Death, a level 1 felony.
Miller’s spouse, Alesha Miller, also faces neglect charges in connection to Elijah’s death.
Police said the investigation shows that Alesha and Jenna Miller drove to Lutheran Hospital in the early morning hours on Saturday, Dec. 18, with Elijah in the back seat.
In court documents, the boy was described as “cold and limp... and rigor mortis was starting to settle into his body, according to the medical staff.”
Court documents also noted Elijah had “major bruises” to his arms and face, “major bruising” to the lower back and buttocks and a “small cut/laceration at the base of the victim’s penis.”
