FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne Police are investigating a shooting that critically injured one man early Tuesday morning.

According to a release sent by FWPD, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 6200 block of Chatham Dr., in the Autumn Woods Apartments, just before 4:30 a.m. Police say a caller with a “significant language barrier” said one person had been shot there.

Police tell us they found a man shot several times and rendered aid to the man until Medics arrived. He was taken to the hospital where he was downgraded to critical condition.

Officers say they believe the shooting happened at the entrance of the apartment complex. They ask anyone with information to call FWPD at 427-1201, Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867, or use the anonymous P3 Tips app. This incident remains under investigation at the time of this report.
