Coroner ID’s victim in Sunday shooting at apartment complex

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed in a shooting at Abors of Southtown Square on Sunday.
Police were called to the apartment complex in the 7900 block of Old Decatur Road around 1 a.m. Sunday and found one man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested 19-year-old Dakota Waudby on a charge of murder in connection to the shooting.
The coroner has now identified the victim as 34-year-old Renako Sadiki Kenyatta Thomas of Fort Wayne. His cause of death was ruled to be a gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death was ruled as a homicide.
Thomas’ death marks the 38th homicide in Allen County so far this year.
