FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - For many years, Irwin STEM Magnet School has hosted an annual Veterans Day event. This year, over 40 Veterans attended the program, where each individual was honored for their service.

Prior to the program, each Veteran was given free haircuts and makeovers by JCPenny and Ravenscroft Beauty College, while also enjoying a free hot, catered breakfast.

This was the first school assembly since the beginning of the pandemic. Kasey J. Carr, an Air Force Veteran and current Administrative Assistant at Irwin, knew the importance of this event, having all students gather once again to honor those who have served in the military.
