FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A former Fort Wayne Police Sergeant who admitted to strangling his wife will spend no time behind bars for the crime.

Boyce Ballinger was charged with attacking his wife after attending a party in October 2020.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop the domestic battery charge in exchange for his agreement to plead guilty to one count of strangulation.

The agreement allows him to avoid jail time entirely.
