Coroner ID’s woman shot to death on Alverado Drive; Husband due in court Thursday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The coroner’s office has notified the family of the woman shot and killed on Alverado Drive on March 19.
The Allen County Coroner said 59-year-old Joyce Ann Carwile died from gunshot wounds and her death was ruled the county’s 8th homicide so far this year.
Her husband, 56-year-old David Nelson Carwile II, is charged with murder in the case. Court documents filed in the case revealed this wasn’t the first time authorities learned of trouble brewing inside the home on Alverado Drive.
The day before the shooting on March 18, the victim called 911 to report a domestic dispute. Joyce Carwile told dispatchers her husband looked at her and said, “I wish you were dead.”
Moments after the shooting, Joyce Carwile ran to a neighbor’s house for help. That neighbor told investigators Joyce said, “my husband shot me!”
David Carwile appeared in court Monday for an initial hearing and is due back in court on Thursday.
